What OC candidates should practise
OC-style writing tasks typically require students to write a creative or persuasive response in a limited time. Strong candidates develop these skills:
Planning ideas quickly
Reading the prompt carefully and mapping 3 key points or events before writing.
Writing clear sentences
Constructing sentences that are easy to follow and vary in length and structure.
Using precise vocabulary
Choosing specific, well-placed words rather than vague or repeated language.
Organising paragraphs
Grouping ideas clearly so the response has a defined beginning, middle and end.
Explaining ideas
Going beyond listing points to actually explaining why they matter.
Editing under time pressure
Using the final 2–3 minutes to re-read and improve at least one sentence.

Progress tracking
Parents and students can see rubric scores across submissions to track improvement over time.
AI coaching, not ghostwriting.
WriteWise Coach supports OC preparation by coaching the student. It does not write full answers for students to submit. The app gives feedback, suggests improvements and tracks progress — the student does the writing, develops the ideas, and builds the skills.
