What parents get

Know exactly what to improve next

Every report gives your child one clear next step — not a vague comment like 'needs more detail', but a specific revision task based on their own writing.

Reports you can actually read

Rubric scores are explained in plain English, with sentences from your child's own draft quoted as evidence. No jargon, no guessing what the feedback means.

NAPLAN-style and selective writing support

Practice is aligned to NAPLAN-style marking criteria for Years 3–9. The same feedback supports selective school writing preparation for Years 3–6.

Progress tracking over time

Parents with linked accounts can see every submission, every score, and the trend across drafts — so you can see improvement happening.

AI feedback, not ghostwriting

WriteWise Coach scores and comments on your child's own writing. It does not generate essays for them to submit. Your child does the writing; the AI helps them understand what to improve.

Child privacy, in plain English

Student writing is never used to train AI models or shared with advertisers. Direct identifiers are removed before AI processing. You can request deletion at any time.

How it works at home

  1. 1
Choose or set a writing task

Pick from the prompt bank or set your own topic for persuasive or narrative writing.

  2. 2
Your child writes their own draft

There is no AI-generated text for them to copy. The child writes from scratch in their own words.

  3. 3
    Receive a rubric-based report

Scores against all nine criteria, with evidence from the child's own writing and one revision focus.

  4. 4
    Complete the revision task

The child rewrites one specific section based on the feedback — improving the exact skill the report identified.

  5. 5
    Track progress over time

Scores across multiple drafts are tracked so you can see improvement happening in real time.

Frequently asked questions

Does my child need to be enrolled at a school to use WriteWise Coach?
No. Families can use WriteWise Coach independently at home. Parent plans give you access to set writing tasks, review feedback, and track your child's progress without a school or tutor involved.
Can I see the feedback my child receives?
Yes. Parents with linked accounts have full visibility of every report — rubric scores, evidence quotes, coaching prompts, and revision tasks. Nothing is hidden from you.
Is this suitable for NAPLAN preparation?
Yes. The rubric criteria align to the NAPLAN writing marking guide for Years 3–9. The most beneficial practice happens when students write regularly across both persuasive and narrative genres.
Is it safe for children to use?
Yes. The platform is designed for children. There is no open-ended chat, no social features, and no advertising. Student writing is not used to train AI models. All AI scores are available for teacher or parent review before being delivered to the child.
What if my child finds the feedback discouraging?
Feedback is structured to start with a strength before identifying a focus area. The revision task is framed as a challenge, not a deficit. Parents can review the report before the child sees it.
