NAPLAN writing practice with rubric-based feedback.
WriteWiseCoach gives students targeted NAPLAN writing practice — with scores and feedback aligned to the official NAPLAN marking criteria. Every mark is supported by evidence from the student’s own writing, and every AI score is reviewed by a teacher before it reaches the child.
What NAPLAN writing markers look for.
The NAPLAN writing test is scored across nine criteria. Every WriteWiseCoach submission is marked against the same criteria — so students learn exactly what earns marks in the real test.
Does the writing suit the reader and purpose?
Is the writing organised correctly for the text type?
Are the ideas relevant, developed, and convincing?
Does the writing use persuasion effectively? (persuasive genre)
Are word choices precise and deliberate?
Does the writing flow from sentence to sentence?
Are ideas grouped logically into paragraphs?
Is punctuation accurate and controlled?
Are words spelt correctly, including complex words?

Questions about NAPLAN writing practice
Which NAPLAN year levels does this cover?
Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 are the NAPLAN testing years, but the writing rubrics apply from Year 3 onwards. WriteWiseCoach supports Years 3–9 so students can build skills across every year, not just in test years.
Does WriteWiseCoach cover both persuasive and narrative writing?
Yes. The NAPLAN writing test alternates between persuasive and narrative genres. Both are supported with genre-specific rubric scoring.
How does the feedback relate to what real NAPLAN markers look for?
The rubric is structured around the same criteria NAPLAN markers score — audience, text structure, ideas, vocabulary, cohesion, paragraphing, sentence structure, punctuation, and spelling. Each score is supported by evidence quoted directly from the student's own writing.
Is the AI writing for my child?
No. WriteWiseCoach gives feedback on what the student wrote — it never generates or rewrites their work. The coaching prompts guide revision, but the student does the writing.
